Summary
Trick Williams says Lil Yachty is treating his current WWE involvement as more than a one-off WrestleMania appearance.
Williams is set to challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Championship on night two of WrestleMania 42 on April 19, and Yachty has become part of the build to that match. The pairing already crossed into music earlier this week when Williams and Yachty released a diss track aimed at Sami Zayn ahead of the title bout.
Yachty also got physically pulled into the storyline on the April 10 episode of SmackDown when Zayn hit him with a Helluva Kick.
Quote from Trick Williams
"Can't lie, working with Yachty has been dope, man. He loves the business. He's not here to be no part-timer or just pop in for WrestleMania, he wants to be here for (even the smaller markets like) Delaware or Baton Rouge. He wants to hit the cities because he loves the game. It's funny seeing him before we went out on (SmackDown). You can tell he was getting in his state. He said, 'Man, I don't even get nervous for no concert no more, but I feel something for this.' That's special."
What Lil Yachty's role means for Trick Williams vs. Sami Zayn
Williams framed Lil Yachty as someone invested in the full WWE experience, not just the biggest weekend on the calendar, and that gives this United States title program a little more staying power heading into WrestleMania 42. If Yachty remains attached to Williams after Sunday, the celebrity involvement stops being a cameo and becomes an ongoing part of Williams' presentation.
It also adds another layer to Williams' issue with Zayn. WWE already used the Helluva Kick on SmackDown to make Yachty part of the feud, so his continued presence keeps extra attention on a match that could help define where Williams stands on the main roster after WrestleMania.
