Summary

Trick Williams says Lil Yachty is interested in doing more than making a celebrity appearance on WWE television.

While speaking on Stephanie McMahon's "What’s Your Story?" podcast, Williams described how serious Yachty has been about his involvement in wrestling since the two were paired together on WWE programming. Williams said Yachty has talked about wanting to earn his way in rather than jump straight into the biggest spotlight.

That lines up with the direction WWE has already teased. Williams and Yachty appeared together on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 42, and Wrestling Remembers previously covered how Williams said Yachty wanted more than a WrestleMania cameo in WWE.

Quote from Trick Williams

Williams said Yachty has been vocal about how much he respects the business and how far he wants to take the idea.

"This is what he told me: He says, 'Trick, I can't believe they're letting me do WrestleMania with you. I ain't wanna take no shortcuts. I ain't wanna go straight to the top. I want to go to Delaware, I wanna go to Baton Rouge.' He said, 'I want to be one of the boys.' He said, 'I love this business. I've been watching this for years.' He wants to be one of the boys. We talk, sometimes 2 o'clock in the morning. I'm like, 'Aite, Yachty,'"

Williams later went on to say:

"Lash (Legend) has had enough. She has had enough. But, that's my boy, and it's crazy because we both have a desire for excellence. We want it to be good. We want everything that we do to feel like magic. That same feeling that we felt when y'all was doing your thing in the Attitude Era. Everything has to feel real to the people, and he loves it. He said he wants to have a match. Yachty said he wants a match. He gonna get in shape and we're gonna do this. Let's make it happen."

What Lil Yachty could mean for Trick Williams on WWE TV

If WWE follows through on this pairing, Lil Yachty gives Trick Williams another mainstream name tied directly to his presentation, and that can keep Williams visible beyond a single post-WrestleMania segment. It also suggests this was not meant to be a one-off cameo if both sides are already talking about training and eventually doing a match.

For now, the clearest takeaway is that Williams sees Yachty as someone who wants to take the role seriously, not just borrow the spotlight for one night.
