Summary
WWE NXT on May 5 from the Performance Center pushed several stories forward across the two-hour broadcast, with ZARIA stepping back into the Women's North American Title picture and a new name closing the night.
The card had already started taking shape with the announced Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice tag match, and the finished show added more movement around the women's division, Tony D'Angelo's orbit, and the Vanity Project feud.
Kali Armstrong defeated Jaida Parker in the opening hour, Jackson Drake beat Jasper Troy with Vanity Project at ringside, and The Culling picked up a tag win over Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice. In the main event, Tony D'Angelo beat Tavion Heights before Will Kroos appeared after the match and revealed his new name, Mason Rook.

ZARIA enters the title mix
ZARIA appeared on the show to declare that she is coming for the NXT Women's North American Championship. Tatum Paxley then confronted her before Lizzy Rain and Nikkita Lyons also entered the conversation and called their own shots for the title.
That sequence put multiple names around the same championship at once, which gives NXT a few clear directions for the division without confirming a specific match yet.
Mason Rook changes the closing image
The end of the broadcast centered on Tony D'Angelo's win over Tavion Heights, but the bigger takeaway came after the bell. Kam Hendrix and Myles Borne got involved during the match, and Will Kroos then laid out both Heights and D'Angelo before revealing that he will now be known as Mason Rook.
For NXT, that makes the final segment less about D'Angelo's result and more about a fresh name being placed directly into a crowded power struggle. Jaida Parker also being confronted later in the show by Nattie keeps another thread alive, especially after Nattie's recent public interest in facing Parker.
