Summary

Zilla Fatu says he does not see AEW as a fallback option if a WWE call takes longer than expected.

During a recent interview, Fatu made it clear that WWE remains the destination he wants most as he continues building his name on the independent scene. Fatu, who has nearly three years of indie experience behind him, said that goal is tied both to his own future and to the legacy of his father, Umaga.

That commitment comes as Fatu continues to draw attention as one of wrestling's more closely watched young prospects. He has also been in the spotlight recently after sharing that Dominik Mysterio welcomed him back after prison release.

Quote from Zilla Fatu

Asked whether he would sign with AEW if WWE took too long to bring him in, Fatu said:

"No. I think my heart is with the E."

Fatu later went on to say:

"Yeah, 100%. So, I'm not going to break that cycle. Not only that, I got unfinished business as far as with my dad's legacy to fulfill. That's why. I want to go over there and turn that shit up and at the same time, build my own brand."

What Zilla Fatu's WWE stance means

Fatu naming WWE so directly puts his long-term goal in plain view, and it also frames how fans will read his next indie appearances. Until anything official changes, his path still looks centered on proving he belongs in the same company where Umaga became a two-time Intercontinental Champion.

It also gives extra weight to any future movement involving WWE developmental or NXT, because Fatu is no longer speaking in general terms about a dream scenario. He is openly identifying WWE as the place where he wants to carry his family's history forward while establishing himself on his own terms.
