Summary
WWE NXT is set to become part of ESPN Unlimited through a new agreement to stream CW Sports on the platform. The deal adds NXT to a larger package of live programming from The CW, giving viewers another way to watch the weekly brand as the network continues to build out its sports lineup.
The announcement landed one day after WWE NXT premium live events moving exclusively to The CW this summer. Taken together, the moves give The CW a larger role in how NXT is distributed, both for weekly television and for premium live events.
CW and ESPN expand NXT's streaming reach
According to the announcement, more than 800 hours of live sports content will be available through the arrangement. That lineup includes college football, basketball, NASCAR's O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, PBA Bowling, PBR Bull Riding, AVP volleyball, the 2026 Arizona Bowl, and WWE NXT.
The update also means NXT will sit alongside WWE premium live events that are already available on ESPN Unlimited.
Quotes
Quote from Emily Horowitz
"We think this is a real value add for our Unlimited subscribers."
Horowitz added:
"[It] makes that product as attractive as we possibly can."
Quote from Brad Schwartz
"We were hunting for a streaming solution, and the thing that we knew was that the world doesn't need another direct-to-consumer product."
Schwartz later went on to say:
"We decided our strategy was not going to be adding to that challenge for people and that we were going to partner with somebody to do it. If you're going to find a partner for sports, the worldwide leader in sports is a pretty good one to go with."
What ESPN Unlimited means for NXT viewers
NXT now has a clearer streaming path tied directly to The CW's sports strategy, which should make the brand easier to follow for fans who already use ESPN Unlimited. It also strengthens The CW's overall commitment to NXT at a moment when the network is taking on a bigger share of WWE's developmental brand across both weekly programming and upcoming premium live events.
