Summary

Jade Cargill returned to WWE television on Friday's episode of SmackDown and immediately inserted herself back into the orbit of Rhea Ripley.

Ripley teamed with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss against Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence. Late in the match, Cargill appeared at ringside and tripped Ripley off the ropes, creating the opening Fatal Influence needed to steal the win.

Cargill had been off WWE programming since losing the WWE Women's Title to Ripley at WrestleMania 42. Even during that absence, she remained part of the broader conversation around SmackDown, including when she looked back on her favorite WWE ring gear earlier this year.

What Jade Cargill's return means for Rhea Ripley

Cargill's first move back on SmackDown was aimed directly at Ripley, which makes their WrestleMania 42 fallout the obvious story coming out of this segment. WWE also had Cargill stand tall after the bell alongside B-Fab and Michin, signaling that her return is not being treated as a one-night surprise.

That also leaves Ripley with fresh problems on two fronts. She took the loss in the match because of Cargill's involvement, and the post-match attack widened the chaos around her side of the division.
