Summary

Je'Von Evans says his first WrestleMania match kept getting bigger in his mind every time WWE added another layer to it.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo during WWE Hall of Fame weekend, Evans said he was already thrilled just to be booked for WrestleMania 42. That excitement kept growing once he learned the match would be for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, then again when the field came together, and once more when Rey Mysterio was added to the bout.

Evans is set for a six-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship against champion Penta and four other challengers, including Mysterio. It is another sign of how quickly WWE has elevated him onto a major stage. That also lines up with Evans recently saying a future match with Leon Slater could headline WrestleMania one day.

Quote from Je'Von Evans

"Honestly, I think I was just.. happy, you know what I mean? I was already happy that I had a WrestleMania match, and then just another level of happy when I found out it was for a title. Then another level of happy when I found out the participants. Then another level of happy when Rey Mysterio got added. So I've just been happy and all excited this whole time, for sure."

What Je'Von Evans' WrestleMania 42 spot means

A WrestleMania 42 title ladder match gives Evans one of the biggest showcase opportunities of his career, even before the bell rings. Sharing that match with names like Penta and Rey Mysterio puts him in front of the widest possible audience and signals that WWE sees him as more than a prospect.

It also gives Evans a chance to stand out in a chaotic championship setting without needing the entire match built around him. If he delivers in that environment, it strengthens his case to stay in the Intercontinental title mix after WrestleMania.
