Summary

Killer Kross and Scarlett say they would consider working in AEW, but only if the promotion had a clear creative direction in place for them.

The pair have worked independently since leaving WWE in 2025 after their contracts expired. During a recent interview with D-Von Dudley, Scarlett said any possible AEW run would need the right story attached to it, while Kross said their bigger concern is making sure their work has purpose rather than just taking a payday.

Quotes

Quote from Scarlett

"I would say, if the creative was right, maybe. There would have to be a plan, like a proper long-term storyline plan."

Quote from Killer Kross

"Wherever we go, whether it's an independent or it's a televised company, or streaming, whatever have it, we want to be out there performing at our best. We don't want to show up, collect a paycheck and just leave. We're making an excellent living, we're in a very unique situation, it doesn't always work out this way for everybody independently. We're in an excellent situation where we're able to work all over the world."

Kross later went on to say:

"To put it as plainly as possible, it's not about clearing a particular amount of money, it's about the purpose of the performance. No matter what anyone's preconceived notion is about pro-wrestling, this shit hurts and it does take time off your life, and we're very well aware of that. We make that commitment knowing that. If somebody is looking to pay us a bunch of money to do a short match that doesn't mean anything... We're not interested. We want to do meaningful performances with purpose, and have fun."

What Kross and Scarlett are signaling about AEW

Kross and Scarlett are making it clear that any move to AEW would need more than name value alone, it would need a real lane for them on television. For a duo still working the independents by choice, that suggests creative direction matters more to them right now than simply getting back onto a major weekly platform.

Their comments also line up with how Kross has talked about previous career frustrations, including his account of WWE presentation decisions during his main roster run. If AEW ever did enter the picture, the biggest issue would not be whether the company has interest, but whether Kross and Scarlett believe the role is meaningful enough to take.
