Summary

The Miz said his daughter's reaction to Danhausen stealing her bike on WWE SmackDown was not what he expected.

While discussing the segment, Miz said she was more amused by Danhausen than upset about the bike being taken. He also pushed back on the idea that the recent run of bad luck around him has anything to do with a curse, instead blaming a string of very real mistakes and incidents.

Quote from The Miz

"You know what the weird part is? My daughter, I was like, 'Sweetheart, Danhausen stole your bike.' She [excitedly] goes, 'Danhausen?!?' I go, 'Yes, Danhausen.' She goes, 'That's okay, you'll just get me a new one.' I go, 'Excuse me?' She goes, 'I love Danhausen.' I go, 'No you don't, you're my daughter. You're not supposed to like Danhausen.' She goes, 'He's funny, dad.' No, he's not funny. It's not funny. I don't like the fact that my daughter is like, 'Oh, I like Danhausen.' The guy has made my life misery for the past two weeks and it's not a curse. The things that have been happening to me aren't curses. The referee getting a cramp in his arm and costing me the tag team championships, that's not a curse, that's a person that doesn't know how to do his job. Me getting blown up on Friday Night SmackDown, that is not a curse. That is someone mistakenly pressing the pyro button for some ungodly reason during my match. Nick Aldis needs to figure things out. Him breaking into my home, that's not a curse, that's a crook. That's a criminal. That's what I see and everyone else seems to think, no Miz, it's because you're cursed. It's not a curse."

Danhausen's SmackDown feud keeps The Miz in a comedy lane

The immediate consequence here is that WWE is still leaning into the absurd side of the Miz-Danhausen program on SmackDown, with Miz now selling that even his own family has been won over by Danhausen. That keeps the story centered on Miz's frustration rather than any serious retaliation, which fits the tone WWE has established over the last two weeks.

Miz also tied the bike theft bit to the referee cramp, the pyro mishap, and the home break-in angle, so WWE has a clear running gag if it wants to keep escalating the chaos around him.
