Summary

William Regal and Fit Finlay appeared during Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights' tag team match on the March 10 episode of NXT on The CW.

Dempsey and Heights were set to face Lexis King and Uriah Connors after Connors, King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, and Arianna Grace had spent time trying to bring Dempsey into their group. Before the match, Connors suggested that his father, Fit Finlay, had helped set events in motion.

Match recap

Regal and Finlay both showed up during the bout, and the turning point came when Dempsey threw Heights with a German suplex on the outside.

That left King and Connors in position to take the win. After the match, Dempsey entered the ring and stood with the faction that had been recruiting him while Regal and Finlay looked on.

What Charlie Dempsey's turn means for NXT

Charlie Dempsey aligning with the same group that had been pressuring him gives NXT another clear faction story to build around, and it leaves Tavion Heights with an obvious grievance coming out of the betrayal. Regal and Finlay appearing for the moment also gave the angle extra weight because both men were directly tied to what unfolded around Dempsey.

Winner

Lexis King and Uriah Connors won after Charlie Dempsey turned on Tavion Heights during the match.
