Summary

Syuri will defend the IWGP Women’s Championship against Megan Bayne at Stardom All Star Grand Queendom on April 26. The event is set for Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa prefecture, and the title match is one of the latest additions to the card.

Bayne heads into the bout as an AEW-contracted talent. She and Lena Kross are also scheduled to defend the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship against Maya World and Hyan on the Dynasty Zero Hour pre-show.

Bayne returns to a familiar stage

Bayne is not walking into Stardom as a stranger. She wrestled regularly for the promotion in 2023 and worked more than 50 matches there during that run.

That history gives this title match a little more weight than a standard outside challenge. Bayne already has experience in Stardom’s ring, and now she gets a shot at one of the top women’s titles connected to New Japan.

The announcement also adds another high-profile date to Bayne’s current schedule after she was recently set for a tag match at Joey Janela's Spring Break X.

Updated card for All Star Grand Queendom

Along with Syuri vs. Bayne, the announced lineup for the show includes:

  • Natsupoi vs. Maki Itoh
  • Future of Stardom Championship: Ranna Yagami vs. Ema Maishima
  • Saori Anou vs. Fuwa-chan, with Fuwa-chan forced to drop her nickname and wrestle under her real name if she loses
  • Suzu Suzuki and Rina Yamashita vs. Maika and Hanako
  • Goddesses of Stardom Championship: Natsuko Tora and Ruaka vs. AZM and Miyu Amasaki
  • Wonder of Stardom Championship: Konami vs. Hanan
  • World of Stardom Championship: Saya Kamitani vs. Sayaka Kurara, with Cosmic Angels set to disband if Kurara loses

What Syuri vs. Bayne means for the IWGP Women’s title picture

Syuri defending the IWGP Women’s Championship at Yokohama Arena gives Stardom All Star Grand Queendom another major singles title match on a loaded card. For Bayne, it puts her in position for a breakout win outside AEW while she is already carrying tag gold elsewhere.
