Summary
The Miz says he is pushing to secure a match spot at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, as the card continues to fill out with established names and rising talent.
In a new interview with Esteban Ramirez, Miz said the depth of the current roster is part of why he feels he has to raise his level heading into WrestleMania season.
Quote from The Miz
"I’ve been working harder than ever to literally try to be on the card of WrestleMania 42. The reason being is, there are so many superstars, so many new and upcoming superstars that have just been blowing the roof off the place."
Miz later went on to say:
"Oba Femi, it is not supposed to happen where a person walks into a WWE arena and everyone’s chanting your name right off the bat. That just doesn’t happen, it takes time to develop. He’s developed so quickly and now he’s going up against Brock Lesnar. Everyone’s excited about it, everyone’s talking about it."
Where The Miz Stands Before WrestleMania 42
The Miz has not wrestled on a premium live event card since WrestleMania 40, where he and R-Truth won the WWE World Tag Team Championships. Outside of Royal Rumble appearances, he has been absent from WWE PLE matches during that stretch.
What This Means for The Miz at WrestleMania 42
The Miz publicly campaigning for a WrestleMania 42 spot puts pressure on his on-screen direction, because WWE now has to define whether he lands in a featured match or remains outside the main card. His comments about Oba Femi also highlight how quickly new names are changing the pecking order, which makes every remaining WrestleMania slot more competitive.
