Summary

The closing angle on the May 2 episode of AAA on FOX pushed the El Grande Americano story forward with a contract signing and a post-segment beatdown.

Chad Gable's Original El Grande Americano signed the contract for his Mask vs. Mask match against Ludwig Kaiser's El Grande Americano 2 at Noche de Los Grandes on May 30. Before signing, Original El Grande demanded two conditions: that El Grande 2 would automatically lose his mask if any physicality happened before the match, and that AAA interviewer Andrea Bazarte be removed from the promotion.

After Original El Grande left the ring, The Creed Brothers attacked El Grande 2 from behind and drove him through a table.

The contract signing fallout

Bazarte, who was identified as Kaiser's real-life significant other, took a microphone during the segment and said she was fine with the condition and wanted El Grande 2 to beat Original El Grande and take his mask.

The ambush changed the tone of the segment immediately after the contract was signed. Julius Creed and Brutus Creed gave Gable backup from his old American Made circle, while Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano ran in to help El Grande 2 after the table spot.

What it means for Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser

AAA now has a cleaner line into May 30: Gable's side has already tried to tilt the situation before the Mask vs. Mask match, and Kaiser's side has a reason to come into the bout looking for payback. The Creed Brothers showing up also ties this angle back to Gable's old American Made alliance, much like WWE Raw March 16 Sets El Grande Americano Showdown With Reigns, Lesnar, and AJ Lee vs Bayley kept the El Grande Americano story positioned as part of a bigger WWE-connected presentation.
